Monte Carlo: Viktor starts well into clay court season

Monte Carlo. Viktor has opened the European clay court swing of the ATP World Tour with a promising performance against J.R. Lisnard of France in the 1st round of the Rolex Masters . From the beginning Vik dominated the match with aggressive baseline tennis, also his serve was working very well. It was striking to note how determinated and positive Viktor acted on court – probably the result of the good preparation with his team for the 2nd quarter of the season!

Czech Republik defeated Serbia 4/1

World No. 7 Tomas Berdych led the Czech Republic into the Davis Cup semi-finals after winning his third match of the weekend on Sunday. Having won in singles on Friday and teamed with Radek Stepanek for victory on Saturday, the 26 year old gave his team an unassailable 3-1 lead by edging unlucky Janko Tipsarevic 7-6(6), 7-6(6), 7-6(7). The “dead rubber” between Vik and Lukas Rosol ended 7/6 7/5 for the Czech.

This week Vik will rest for 2 or 3 days before he starts with his preparation for the upcoming Masters Series tournament in Monte Carlo.
